About the practice and the classes

In class we’ll consciously and responsibly work the body, movement, breath, action, perception, attention, and the sensorial body. The classes consciously and responsibly work the body, movement, breath, action, perception, attention, and the sensorial body. The emphasis of each class will respond to the particularities of each day; in some they’ll focus more on details and alignment, in others on movement, breath and the transition between asanas; some classes will focus more on creating a receptive environment in the body and mind, while others will engage the organs of action (feet, hands, arms, legs) to to open the body so that it can become receptive and so that we can properly breathe and the prana (vital energy) can flow. The classes respond also to the climate, the time of year, to what has been worked in previous classes, as well as the mood and physical availability of the students so that they have a well rounded practice that respects the variations of the body, mind, and seasonal cycles.

Our studio is intimate, classes won’t host more than 7 students at a time, so you’ll each receive a great deal of attention. All the materials in the studio are eco-friendly, the blankets are in organic cotton hand dyed by me using natural dyes, all bricks and blocks are made of cork, and the mats are in natural jute and antiallergic rubber. The classes gather students of different levels, and they directed towards beginners and intermediate students. Wear comfortable clothing in which you can move easily in, preferably clothing that allows the teacher see the muscles of the legs, so either leggings or shorts. There are mats in the studio, but you are welcomed to bring yours. Please arrive some minutes before the beginning of class, specially if it’s your first time. Please always tell the teacher if you have an injury or any kind of health condition.
